Cheeseburger Chowder

Alright, I’ve gotten quite a few requests for the recipe so here it is. I found it online and mixed it together with some of the ingredients I remember from the Pickle!

  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 2 medium potatoes, peeled and cubed, about 2 cups
  • 1/2 cup chopped celery
  • 1/4 cup chopped onion
  • 2 tablespoons chopped green pepper
  • 1 tablespoon beef bouillon granules or beef base
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • 2 1/2 cups milk
  • 3 tablespoons flour
  • 1 cup shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
  • This is the recipe I found online. I recommend replacing the Celery and with Tomatoes and omitting the peppers and put in Elbow Mac Noodles.  Also, Lump suggested adding the VELVETA cheese, so what I did was cut the cheddar in half and replaced that half with the Velveeta. Also add some Pepper Jack Cheese to help spice it up a little.

Brown the meat with your onions. Add Flower and mix well. Add Water, Beef Base/Cubes, Tomatoes, Potatoes, Milk, and salt. Bring to a boil then turn heat down and let simmer. Once the potatoes are cooked, you can melt in the cheeses.

So to come clean, this is a mix of the Pickle recipe and the one I found online. We served the online recipe at my other gig and it didn’t taste as good so I mixed in what I remembered of the Pickle recipe to this one’s portions for the guys on the show. If you like things a little spicier, I suggest mixing in a little Frank’s Red Hots when you serve it!

It really wasn’t hard to find this. Just google Cheeseburger Chowder Recipe and there it is!

    ENJOY!!!!
