Weird Al
Today on I-Pod Friday I played a little Weird Al. I can’t help it- I love this guy! I’m embarrassed to say this as someone who works in radio, but I’ve been to 6 concerts in my life. I saw Janet Jackson twice and Weird Al 4 times I’m very sad to say that I will miss him when he plays Turning Stone this month. I was a kid when he was getting big with EAT IT and I just grew up with him. I can pop his tunes in and sing along to most of them!
One thing about Weird Al that not everyone knows is that his albums always feature ORIGINAL comedy tunes as well as his famous parodies and they are equally as funny! If you get a chance I highly recommend checking out some of these original tunes from Weird AL – Virus Alert

He really puts on a GREAT live show. I dragged my wife to his show for her first time last May and she was DREADING IT! I kept a close eye on her the entire show though and she was dancing and laughing and afterwards she admitted she had a lot of fun! I’m big-time depressed I can’t make it out to the show at Turning Stone next week. If you can, GO!

Not to advertise any other radio show (I think if you have come this far and are reading a blog on the stations website then you are already a dedicated enough listener not to be swayed) but there is a radio show called Rover’s MG something where they had a Wierd Al interview. They mentioned in passing, his parents who died in an accident. Wierd Al became the most depressed and boring interview you have ever heard after that, and they called him out on it, asking if they had hurt his feelings. Hilarity ensues. Podcast is on their website.
P.S. Phil if you don’t actually approve this comment, at least perhaps you would personally be interested in hearing it
